AUSTIN, Texas – With Linda McMahon now confirmed as the United States Secretary of Education, Greg Abbott will have another billionaire backer for his voucher scam. Billionaire Linda McMahon is a huge supporter of vouchers and will help further erode our state's public education system.

 Texas Democratic Party Chair Gilberto Hinojosa released the following statement:

As we fight against Texas Republicans and their attempts to sell off public education to the highest bidder with their voucher scam, Greg Abbott and Donald Trump have just welcomed an unqualified loyalist who lied about having an education degree. Make no mistake: Trump, McMahon, and Abbott are teaming up to set our students up for failure while betraying hardworking Texas families."
