Texas Democrats Are Sending at least 1.75 Million Vote- By-Mail Applications during the 2020 Cycle
Austin, TX — Today, the Texas Democratic Party launched our general election Vote-by-Mail Fund to support the largest vote-by-mail program in our organization’s history. The Texas Democratic Party’s Vote-by-Mail program will send more than 815,000 vote-by-mail applications to eligible Texas voters in August, making the total number this cycle 1.75 million, by far the most in Texas Democratic Party history.
Voting by mail is the safest way to exercise your Democratic rights in the middle of a pandemic. As part of our ongoing efforts to turn Texas blue and in an effort to combat Republican attempts to suppress the vote, the Texas Democratic Party is launching its most expansive vote-by-mail effort yet. Texas Democrats are poised to turn Texas blue up and down the ballot in November.

Texas Democratic Party Executive Director Manny Garcia issued the following statement:
“Close elections are won or lost with vote-by-mail. And now more than ever, voting by mail is the safest option for our seniors. To send every eligible Democrat an application, we need Texans from across our state chipping in what they can. That’s why we launched our General Election Vote-by-Mail Fund, so we can fully-fund our most expansive vote-by-mail program ever.
“Texas is the biggest battleground state. This historic investment in our Vote-by-Mail program is the next phase of our plan to win the state of Texas. We will continue to register new voters, expand the electorate, fight back against all Republican attempts to suppress the vote, and harness the energy and enthusiasm that we’ve seen across the state.”
