Austin, Texas — Senator John Cornyn is running scared of his abysmal, toxic record, and for good reason.
After disastrously mishandling the coronavirus crisis, failing to stand up for Texas’ military community, and exposing himself as a hypocrite in an attempt to strip health care in the courts, Cornyn is trying to hide from Texas voters.
Check this out from the Austin American-Statesman:
“Cornyn and Hegar were invited by the editorial board to a joint interview. Hegar accepted, but Cornyn would only agree to be interviewed separately. While the conversation was on the record, Cornyn also stipulated that the video of his interview not be posted publicly, as is the editorial board’s usual practice.”
This is the latest example of Cornyn hiding from the people of Texas. He’s also recently cancelled a longstanding weekly press call and has been dodging MJ Hegar’s challenge for two additional debates.
Texas Democratic Party Cornyn War Room Spokesperson Billy Begala released the following statement:
“For nearly two decades, John Cornyn has been prioritizing the best interests of his corporate PAC donors and DC political bosses at the expense of Texas. With a record like Cornyn’s, his only option is to try and hide from the voters. Texans deserve a senator who has the courage and conviction to be transparent and honest about their record and where they stand on the issues, which is why they’ll elect MJ Hegar.”
