SUGGESTED SCRIPT

Hello, my name is _____, and I am calling to tell [Representative/Senator] _______ to take URGENT action to pass bills that prevent tragedies like Uvalde from happening ever again.

As I’m sure you know, gun violence is the #1 cause of death for Texas children and teens, and it is appalling that during this session no meaningful gun violence legislation has been passed.

Specifically, I am demanding the following life-saving measures:

• Universal, stringent, thorough background checks with no private sale – or “gun show” – loopholes.

• Reasonable waiting periods to purchase a firearm.

• Raise the age to 21 to purchase any firearm in Texas.

• Extreme Risk Protection Orders (“Red Flag” laws).

• Strict requirements for safe firearm storage.

Again, [Representative/Senator] _______ MUST do whatever it takes to take URGENT action to pass these commonsense, life-saving measures, to ensure that a tragedy like the Robb Elementary massacre never happens again.
