Ted Cruz Quietly Celebrates “Historic Anniversary” of Dobbs, Which Let Texas Abortion Ban Take Effect

AUSTIN, Texas – Ted Cruz hopes you won’t catch what he just signed on to, almost a full month after the fact – a Senate resolution “celebrating the historic anniversary” of the Supreme Court case that overturned Roe v. Wade and let Texas’ near-total abortion ban take effect.

Why wait to “celebrate”?

  • Maybe because, according to the Houston Chronicle, “Texas saw an estimated 26,313 rape-related pregnancies during the 16 months after the state outlawed all abortions.”

  • Or because Cruz won’t answer for his extreme positions, even after Texans called him out for them.

  • Or because, after NBC 5 in Dallas pressed him three times, he wouldn’t say a word about what women are going through in Texas right now.

Of course Cruz is ecstatic about the state of reproductive health in Texas today. He just doesn't want Texans to remember his role in making it happen.
