Texas Democratic Party Statement on Ken Paxton Suing to Target Women Traveling for Abortion Care

AUSTIN, Texas – In response to Ken Paxton’s dangerous, cruel lawsuit targeting Texas women who travel out of state for abortion care, Texas Democratic Party Chair Gilberto Hinojosa released the following statement:

“After Ted Cruz fought his way into the exam room by pushing for the end of Roe v. Wade, Ken Paxton is right behind him. When Cruz opened the door to the abortion ban putting Texans’ lives at risk, he enabled his allies like Paxton to invade the private lives and decisions of millions of Texas women.

“Texans are fired up to put a stop to this nonsense. The first step they’ll take to do it is firing the man who got us here, Ted Cruz.”
