Texas Democrats Congratulate Endorsed Candidate for Houston Controller Chris Hollins

AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Democratic Party Chairman Gilberto Hinojosa issued the following statement on the victory of Houston Controller-elect Chris Hollins:

“Texas Democrats were proud to endorse Chris Hollins in the December runoff – and tonight, we congratulate him as Houston’s Controller-elect. Chris is a long-time Texas Democrat who has spent his career meeting the moment, fighting for progressive policies, and advocating for the freedoms of all Houstonians. This election was crucial for Houston, and together, we defeated a MAGA extremist who was one of the most vocal proponents of the state’s takeover of HISD schools. Tonight, Houston voters strongly rejected yet another radical Republican and chose a Democratic candidate for Controller who represents the best of Texas values. Congratulations Chris – we look forward to your administration’s work to better the fourth largest city in America.”
