Texas Democrats Endorse Chris Hollins for Houston Controller

AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Democratic Party Chairman Gilberto Hinojosa issued the following statement on the Project LIFT endorsement of Chris Hollins for Houston Controller:

“Texas Democrats are proud to endorse Chris Hollins for Houston Controller. Chris has spent his career advocating for Houstonians and progressive policies that carry our communities forward, and there’s no doubt that his commitment to public service will make him an outstanding Controller for the 4th largest city in America. Chris Hollins is no stranger to public office. In 2020, he served as Harris County Clerk – where he oversaw the administration of the presidential election and worked to expand access to voting. Meanwhile, Chris’ opponent has built a legacy of MAGA extremism in Harris County – and in 2018, Orlando Sanchez was one of the most vocal proponents of a state takeover of HISD schools. It is clear that Houston voters are avidly rejecting MAGA extremism at the ballot box, and we look forward to mobilizing Houston Democrats ahead of the December 9th runoff election.”
