LYIN’ TED HITS THE ROAD: Where Cruz Goes, His Real Record Follows

AUSTIN, Texas – Ted Cruz may be on the road, but “Lyin’ Ted” isn’t going anywhere. From his border obstruction to his extreme positions on abortion, Cruz can’t hide from his real record, no matter how many lies he tells.

In Dallas:

“‘There’s not a Republican that I know of in the Senate who’s ever introduced a national ban…’ Cruz said.”

FALSE: Cruz himself has introduced legislation to ban abortion at the national level – as the Dallas Morning News reported – “legislation [that] would have made abortions illegal [at] 20 weeks of pregnancy”

In the Rio Grande Valley:

Cruz: “Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are tweaking the numbers to drop slightly right before Election Day…”

FALSE: As KTSM 9 News fact-checked, “Officials say migrant encounter numbers in the Rio Grande Valley sector are down over 57% since February, the lowest since September of 2020.”

Cruz is lying about this because he’s had twelve years to address our broken immigration system and has done nothing.

In Tyler:

“[Vice President] Kamala Harris has been the border czar for the last four years,” Cruz said…

FALSE: As the Tyler Morning Telegraph fact-checked, “Harris was never officially designated as the ‘border czar’ or put in charge of border security”...

But Cruz, who has had every opportunity to work with both parties to secure the border, has failed to do so – saying “we don’t need a border bill.

“Congressman Colin Allred supports open borders,” said Cruz.

FALSE: Allred does not and has never supported “open borders,” and unlike Cruz has worked with both parties to deliver results. Allred has been a consistent voice to secure the border while supporting bipartisan initiatives to do so, surge resources to the border, and better assess staffing needs.

In Waco:

Cruz “claimed the Biden administration has set back his own work in trying to secure the U.S. border with Mexico.”

FALSE: Cruz voted against the strongest bipartisan immigration effort in decades, which the Border Patrol Union endorsed.
