Ted Cruz Votes Against Texans’ Right to Access Contraception, Which He’s Criticized and Threatened
AUSTIN, Texas – Ted Cruz just voted against the Right to Contraception Act, which would guarantee Texans the legal right to contraception and stop efforts to restrict access.
Cruz’s record of threatening access to contraception:
Cruz “has consistently attacked birth control by calling medications like Plan B ‘abortion inducing,’” and celebrated a SCOTUS ruling undermining access to contraception.
As Texas press reported last month, Cruz “threw his support behind” a resolution “declaring fetal personhood,” which could threaten contraception access.
He’s denied GOP efforts to target contraception by saying “We don’t have a rubber shortage in America.”
