NO COMMENT TED: San Antonio Express-News Report Exposes Ted Cruz’s Toxic Abortion Record, Refusal to Stand up for Texas Women’s Lives
AUSTIN, Texas – Ted Cruz doesn’t want to talk about his extreme abortion record and his responsibility for the Texas ban that’s endangering millions of women’s lives.
To the San Antonio Express-News, Cruz “declined multiple requests to answer questions” – and “eight written questions on the subject, including whether he would support a federal abortion ban.”
But Cruz is already on the record.
According to this new report, here’s the extreme abortion record Cruz doesn’t want you to remember:
“Cruz, who is staunchly anti-abortion, has expressed support for Texas’ law that only has an exception in cases where the patient’s life is at risk.”
“Cruz said at a town hall that states should be allowed to ban abortion without exceptions for rape and incest.”
“When it comes to rape,” Cruz has said, “I don't believe it's the child’s fault.”
“Cruz declined to say whether he supports exceptions in cases of severe fetal abnormality.”
“‘Texas made a perfectly reasonable decision to protect life,’ Cruz said of Texas’ first abortion ban”
Cruz wouldn’t say “whether he would support a federal abortion ban,” despite authoring legislation “to ban abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy.”
“Cruz has expressed support for Texas’ abortion laws, which do not provide exemptions in cases of rape, incest or fetal abnormality.”
