NO COMMENT TED: San Antonio Express-News Report Exposes Ted Cruz’s Toxic Abortion Record, Refusal to Stand up for Texas Women’s Lives

AUSTIN, Texas – Ted Cruz doesn’t want to talk about his extreme abortion record and his responsibility for the Texas ban that’s endangering millions of women’s lives.

To the San Antonio Express-News, Cruz “declined multiple requests to answer questions” – and “eight written questions on the subject, including whether he would support a federal abortion ban.”

But Cruz is already on the record.

According to this new report, here’s the extreme abortion record Cruz doesn’t want you to remember:

  • “Cruz, who is staunchly anti-abortion, has expressed support for Texas’ law that only has an exception in cases where the patient’s life is at risk.”

  • “Cruz said at a town hall that states should be allowed to ban abortion without exceptions for rape and incest.”

  • “When it comes to rape,” Cruz has said, “I don't believe it's the child’s fault.”

  • “Cruz declined to say whether he supports exceptions in cases of severe fetal abnormality.”

  • “‘Texas made a perfectly reasonable decision to protect life,’ Cruz said of Texas’ first abortion ban”

  • Cruz wouldn’t say “whether he would support a federal abortion ban,” despite authoring legislation “to ban abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy.”

  • “Cruz has expressed support for Texas’ abortion laws, which do not provide exemptions in cases of rape, incest or fetal abnormality.”
